My good ole B2500's ball joints have had it...my Hayne's manual states on the '98 that the ball joints can't be replaced independently but rather only by replacing the upper and/or lower control arm. Curious if anyone has replaced ball joints on a B2500 if that is the case or what knowledge they can impart to me before I start - appreciate all comments. Kevin

I have a 98 B4000 that needed the same, and I was gonna do it myself untill I found out it was a little too complicated w/ the control arm. So I took it to my mechanic and $450 later, it's good as new! no squeaks no sounds at all! They replaced all the bushings and even turned the rotors for me too! This applies to 98' and newer models ONLY. Pre 98' was independent ball joints.
