Just recieved a letter recalling my mazda 5 for a hat shield and door latches,

When I first logged on here I read someones post about the over heating exhaust, phone my local dealership and was told that they knew nothing about this, and basically told me not to be so silly!!!!!
Well I just recieved my letter recalling the mazda for this such problem!!!!!!!
Thanks to this site I can stay a head of the Parts manager in our local dealership!!!

Told him to go look at tjis site then he may just know where us mazda 5 owners are coming from and that I am not just a whinging woman, going in for every little problem , which in some cases has turn out to be a problem with most mazda 5's

Still got horrible noise from front end over bumps!!! even though had the roll bar thing done !!!!! Still waiting to hear whats happening next about it!!!!

Just had ours done.  Now they need to get the tyre wear sorted!!!!

Told dealer to report back to Mazda to tell them there are quite a few dissatisfied customers out here and it is in their interest to get the problem sorted......

Dealer had a look at tyres. Seemed to be pleased that they were not wearing as badly since they increased the tyre pressure.
I told them to get on to Mazda, and get things moving because any excessive wear no matter how small is not good enough on a new car....
The most important thing is however, if your car is suffering, ring Mazda directly and complain.
Don't expect your dealer to either:
a) know anything about it.  They had another identical Mazda 5 in for the recall.  I jested to the service manager that I bet the tyres would be wearing as well.  Oh no sir came the answer.  (However I know for a fact the car in question has had one set changed.  (I think it was yours Maz05da).
b) Tell Mazda you have a problem.
The more people that tell them directly the more chance they will do something to correct the problem.

just got it back from dealer after having heat shield fitted!!!
They checked tyre pressure whilst it was there, They have said tyers are now wearing evenly!!!  (we will see)   They have put 35  in the front and 40 or 42 in the back ones ( Im gonna see how this pans out!!!)

But told them about the noise again (in the front) and they said they will have a look but when they never said!!!  So im gonna keep on at them till its sorted.

Hi...did you receive a letter from your UK dealer about the Heat Shield recall, I have not heard anything yet.

edit...just noticed it would appear to be cars built between 12/04/2005 to 16/09/2005.
