It would be a shame to stop making such an awesome car. Typical Mazda though, they need to start supporting thier cars more

i have been told that they are redesigning it because it hasn't done nearly as well as the speed 3. they can't tell me when it is coming out again though. one dealer told me 2008.5 but he wasn't sure.

I've been hearing that the next generation mazdaspeed6 won't be out until 2009 - maybe 2010. Apparently, Mazdaspeed is going to wait a couple years to release it's version of the new Mazda6, just like it waited a few years on this version. But it could all be speculation...

ORIGINAL: MrSpike118 Why do you say the V6 is a better quality than the 4 ? The reason why I ask is because when comparing quality most people say the 4 cylinder is better quality because that is a "mazda" engine and the v6 is fords duratec engine. Don't be too quick to dismiss that Duratech engine as another "Found On Roadside Dead" product. It was originally engineered by Porche.

If I knew Mazdaspeed was going to release a turbocharged version of the Duratech engine in the next year or so, I would wait. But since this isn't going to happen, the best bang for my buck seems to be to buy a 2007 Mazdaspeed 6 this summer. Do you agree? I already eliminated a lot of the so-called competitors to the Mazdaspeed6. One of the biggest problems is that "experts" have trouble deciding who those competitors are. I find it very unfair that some reveiws compare it to the EVO, or a Mercedes C-Class. The EVO and STI are small raw cars, that are in a different class. The Mercedes, BMW, Audi cars cost 10k more. Really what the Mazdaspeed6 appeals to is people looking for a practical but fun car that is not priced for the luxury car class. In other words, people unwilling to buy a Camry. I was looking for AWD, decent space in back seat, good handling, and POWER. These were the main competitors in my opinion: Subaru Legacy GT - not enough space in back seat. Doesn't handle as well as the Mazdaspeed. Dodge Charger RT AWD - cheap interior, no manual transmission, Chrysler is a mess right now and I don't trust the reliability Infiniti G35x - much more expensive, doesn't have a manual transmission

If the discount for remaining 07 mazda speed6 over 8,000 to 9,000 off msrp, it is a very good deal. Most dealer did not have many stocks for speed6, 07. I hope you get a good deal on 07 mazda6 or speed6.

The Duratec is generally considered a solid and dependable engine. The only real stigma that people bring against it is that it's from Ford. If it had another manufacturer's stamp in the casting, people would say that it's a fine, if a bit underpowered, engine. Even the V-12 in Aston Martins use some of the Duratec technology found in the Mazda6's V-6. And Noble runs a twin-turbo version of this engine in its M400, putting out 420+ HP. The Cyclone is still a Duratec-technology engine (Duratec 35). The only concern I'd have is the additional weight the new engine will carry, and whether torque steer is going to be significant problem as it is with other 250+ HP FWD cars like Nissan's 3.5L Maxima and Altima.
