Hi this started this morning rather suddenly. When in gear and on the brake (auto trans), the truck felt as if it were not hitting on all cylinders, kind of shaking. This continued as I pulled away from the stop sign, and at about 15 mph, everything smoothed out and seemed fine. But when it shifted into overdrive, my goodness at the shaking and roaring! in drive, it's ok, but in O.D. or sitting still with brakes applied it does this. Any ideas on what is failing? This is a B4000 SE, 1994 4x4 ext cab. Thanks, bawest

It sounds like the torque converter is giving you problems. Have you ever changed the trans fluid? Being that this is a Ford engine and trans, they are very sensitive to the condition of the fluid. I have seen this over and over again with Ford transmissions even with their pass cars and full size trucks too. What seems to work 90% of the time is to have a full fluid flush performed at a good shop.
