Well, yesterday was the first day I really got to drive the car. It has been raining hard for the last 3 days, and I have been battling some sort of flu bug, so I wasn't able to enjoy it until now.

I have to say I am very impressed with this car. The braking, handling, and ride quality are top notch for a car of this price range. Of course the engine is a gem. The best word I think of is "willing". It seems willing to do whatever you ask of it, in any gear. The broad range of the powerband is marvelous. I am not driving the car hard, but I can already see the potential of the engine/trans combination. Dollar for dollar, I think this is the best car I ever bought.

Dollar-for-dollar, I'd have to say that my MX6 GT-turbo was the best car I ever bought (Corvette was $52K). Consider what I was able to get:

Price in 1997: $4000
Mileage: 12,000 miles on factory longblock - all new hoses and belts, as well as a new radiator.
Features:
Electronically-adjustable gas shocks with 2 auto settings - normal and sport. Both settings determine shock valve settings by monitoring G-loads and vehicle speed.

Variable ratio speed-sensitive steering

Air, cruise, power windows, power moon roof and of course, oscillating center vent vanes.

Intercooled, turbocharged 2.2 liter engine with 200lbs-ft of torque.

Of course, we're talking about a used vehicle and I should mention that the Corvette will eat it for lunch, but still, it was the best bang-for-the-buck vehicle I have ever owned. Now if only I can get the MS3 as a second car to replace the MX...........

COOL! Just about every car I have ever owned was either red or black. I had 2 red Vettes, a white Mitsu 3000GT, red Trans AM. white Pontiac Gran Prix, black Mitsu pickup, red Ford Explorer, and a black Triumph GT6. One notable exception was a yellow Vette.

We should start a thread for S3 owners, so we can compare mileage, tire wear, and so on. In fact I will do it now!
