Does anyone know if there is an stereo wiring adapter available for a 2000 Millenia, so I can use the factory wiring harness for the speakers? If there is one available will the factory amps work? I hope someone can help! Thanks!

It has the Bose stereo in it for now and I was wanting to change it without having to rewire all the speakers!

I just bought myself a 2001 S and I think the amps are located near the speakers if that's any consolation.

If we bypass the amps then I believe we've got a good shot at hooking it up correctly.

Is the factory harness at the head unit fitting correctly or is that way different too? Please let me know because I'm about to undertake this job in the next week.

Thanks,
Anthony

nope. the bose speakers are a completely different impedance. you can use the wires, but that's about it.

Yeah sorry. I forgot to say that we'll probably have to take out the factory speakers and replace them with aftermarkets. I believe the amps are very close or within the actual speakers. I want to put in an aftermarket mp3 player deck as well. Keninn? What do you know about this? ANy light you can shed?

Keninn: Do you mean to say that you can't even hook up an aftermarket head unit with an adapter wiring harness?
The plan for me is:
Take aftermarket head unit out of old milly and re-install factory unit.
Take Bose head unit out of new milly and install aftermarket unit
Detach door interior panels
Find Bose Amps
bypass amps and remove bose speakers
replace with aftermarket speakers
Open trunk
Find Bose Amps
bypass amps and remove bose speakers

My first problem will come if I cannot directly hook up the head unit to the factory harness.
Second problem could be if the amps are in weird places. KENINN: Any help on location of the amps???
Third problem could be if factory speaker holes are different than '01 Premium model's holes.
Fourth problem could be making sure the factory Bose amps don't accidentally receive power and short something out?

I'll keep you all posted and take detailed notes. Please get back to me if you know anything that could make my day easier.

Thanks,
Anthony

Tried crutchfield. they don't know anything on the S. Even talked to their tech guys.

Sorry to hear about 'nam. I'm not an audio nut myself, just know that there's no replacement (even bose) for a decent set of aftermarket speakers and I want my MP3 player. There's no substitute for all the albums from your favorite artist on one CD :-)

All I need is an '01 wiring diagram or just something that lets me know where I should specifically look for the speaker amps. I do see that the sub amp is actually in the magnet, and I hope the front speakers have the amp within the enclosure, but I know the rear 6x9s amps are not within sight of the actual speakers.

if anyone knows anything about where these amps are located, I would be very appreciative if they could help.

Thanks,
Anthony
