1996 323 5 speed.

Car shakes in gear when accelerator is not depressed. Only when warm. Consistently, in any gear.
Problem started when engineer was servicing the choke, which did not work.
Engine sometimes stalls at idle when cold and at other times.

No shaking when accelerating, with foot on the gas. No shaking when using the transmission to brake or at higher engine rpm's. No shaking when pushing the clutch pedal down (out of gear).

Suggestions to check the following, so far:

Warm idle speed
Engine mounts
Plastic air duct to the throttle
BAC/IAC air control valves on bottom of throttle body, may need cleaning and/or replacement

Anyone have other suggestions or experience with this?

Do you mean the engine shakes at idle or the car shakes when driving? Have you checked the condition of the engine like a compression test? Are all of the tune up and maintenance items up to date?
