I want to get a nice low purr for my car. I'm thinking about magnaflow exhaust. Any others that I should consider or that may sound nicer and not like " a ricer civic "?

something to keep in mind...if you find an exhaust system that you like, dont worry about what other people think. I love the way that my car sounds with my custom exhaust, but still some people will say that it sounds "ricey" because it doesnt sound like a V8, but it never will. I am a big fan of flowmaster, but magnaflow is really gaining in popularity, and I have seen a few posts on here, talking about how much they like their magnaflow system.

There is no substitute for a deep sounding exhaust. I'm in the market for one and the last thing you want espically on a 6 is to have it sounding high piched and winey like some POS civic. Flowmaster is the way to go if you're just upgrading your mufflers. If you want a deep hardcore sounding exhaust that'll rattle your grandmothers pacemaker then take a look at Borla. Magnaflow has gained in popularity but their build quality is only as good as the mechanic you get to put em on. The rattle that you hear a lot of the time coming off ricers with exhaust systems is the cheap labor that didn't properly secure the system to the chassie. So make sure whatever you get the job is done right the FIRST time.

I think i might go with the borla exhaust then. I dont need a high pitched sound. I'm not a ricey kind of person. thank you very much for your help. Now i just got to play the waiting game for borla to manufacture an exhaust for my specific vehicle. that shouldn't be too long i hope.

I just did a search and borla doesn't make an exhaust system for the 6 yet. Doesn't mean you couldn't put on a pair of their mufflers though.

anyone know a guesstimate on the estimated horsepower gain and better gas mileage? I'm not messing with the engine to get more airflow through, i'm leaving that be.

The gains will be not be noticeable. Your mileage may decrease because you will have a heavier right foot because of how good it sounds opened up.

hmmm.... very good point. I'm putting in a sound system in my car so I don't think I would be able to hear the exhaust too well anyway. But if i didnt get a system, I definitely see your point about being heavy on the pedal to hear the nice exhaust sound.
