Simota makes only a Carbon Fiber SRI, which I do not currently have in stock. It's about $165-175.00

Thanks, you know I was worried about sucking water but after reading most of the posts I don't think it will be a problem. I use the car for a lot of travelling so it could be in Fla one day oand Albany in the snow the next. I have a lot of interest in the Simota intake (06 Mazda 3s Hatch). Any fitment problems?

I have not had a single complaint about the fitment of the intake.

West is there much of a difference in performance between the CF Aero (CF625-1) amd the TwinCharger intake? Would the Aero be less likely to have any water problems? How overblown is the CAI water sucking problem?

The hydrolock issue is way overblown. Even before I was a vendor I was on different boards for many years.
I have never seen anyone post a hydrolock incident of their own, it's always been 'my friend's brother knows someone who hydrolocked their engine'

Just don't submerge the filter (has to be a pretty deep puddle for that to happen!) and you'll be fine.

Performance-wise the numbers will favor a Cold Air Intake but we are still talking about fairly small numbers.

Thanks I thought so. Can I ask one more question? In your experience when adding the TwinCharger and a Magnaflow Catback exhaust are there options for tuning or will the stock computer recognize the modifications and make corrections?

Well, I always re-set my ECU whenever I make any change. But I drive a Protege, not a 3.
I have read that the ECU on the 3 doesn't need to be reset. I'm not sure I buy that completely and
anyway, it doesn't hurt anything to do it other than you'll have to reprogram your radio/clock.

i bought a non brand cold air intake and it did not fit my 2006 mazda 3, do not buy non brand items.
