I am new to mazda's. My brother is bringing me a 95 mx3 in a couple weeks with a bad tranny and motor. so i get a clean drawing board as to what i can do with it.

i guess i am looking for direction, like a link, or just some advice for what engines/trannys fit in this vehicle and how complicated it will get. Of course, I want a fast engine, but i do not want to get crazy on modifying much to make it work.

Ideas?

there are lots of possibilities all easier than swpping a civic as they will bolt up to engine mounts, wiing harness and tranny but u have to say wheter gs or rs vr or 4 cyl as thats what matters.

A good swap would be a mx6 transplant for the1800 v6 to a 2.5 v6 <200 bhp> untuned very simple low cost swap and gives you scope to add turbo or nos once you,ve got use to the 2.5 power at a later date. There is a detailed swap info at <mx3.com> its proberly a weekends work.
