Anybody has a Mazda MPV repair manual? Or is there anything on Mazda MPV repair manual on the internet that I could download F.o.c.?

I have a 1994 Mazda MPV V6 3.0L. Recently I changed the oil, s/plugs, and oil filter. In doing so, I opened the the 2 screws on the air sensor (located on the air filter housing). Now, I could only start the engine for a few seconds, afterwhich, it dies off. It is as if there is no compression. My mechanic said it is due to the fuel pump as he noticed that the petrol spray is so small. I do not believe him as this component could not possibly have failed all of a sudden. I still suspect something is wrong with the fuel sensor (this controls the amount of air intake). Any ideas?

What has happen, when you removed those two screws for the wire harness & pull on them, that broke the internal connections to the circuit broad. time to find another airflow meter. There a
small wire clip which retainer the connector to the airflow meter. This is BOSCH design connector.

What happening, is that when you crank to start the fuel relay is activate from the ign switch.
when the vehicle start the micro switch inside the airflow meter is turn on by the air flowing thru
& moving the door to power the fuel relay & stays running.

Thanks gtextreme. I guess you are right. I must have accidentally pulled the connectors. However, I heard the flap opening each time I cranked the engine (so maybe this shows that the connectors are still intact, at least some of it!!). By the way, I think the airflow sensor is made by Denso. There is a marking J13 embossed on it. By the way, is it OK to open up the airflow sensor (by peeling off the rubber cover)? At I can see what is wrong with it........

Yea go ahead, I used a shaver blade to cut thru the silicone. Not had hard just need to be patience. You may be able to repair, I've
never tried. Good luck. When I referred to the BOSCH design I ment just the connector with it stupid spring wire clip. Don't kick
yourself too hard, I've had mechanics do the same. Coleman has a COLDHEAT soldering gun just got one but haven't tried it.

Good news. The car is fine now. What I did was, I cut the rubber cover on the air flow housing in order to access the "heart" of the air flow sensor. Found that some of the "fingers" inside were bent and some were not in contact with each other as it should. After straightening them out, I put back the cover and sealed it with glue. Now the engine is fine and running as usual. Thanks a lot guys, for all your advice. (You can just imagine the look on my mechanic's face when I told him that I have already repaired the MPV, while he has no clue at all how to repair it!!) Looks like I managed to save quite a bundle!!
