Hi,

I'm new here so please excuse some dumb questions and my clumsy english.

I drive a M5 (2006), Diesel, 143 HP, Navigation etc.. Directly after deliverly
I told my dealer about some "features" which are very annoying.

If it's raining my M5 makes noise like the sound of loosing fuel or water.
As I could see there is a hole in the cover underneath the engine. My dealer
told me, that this hole is normal and for the oil filter of gasoline models.
Is this true? Can I buy a closure head for this?

The next "problem" I have is that the gearbox is very rough-running. When I want
to change a gear the box makes loud noises like my old Volkswagen with a
defective gearbox. My dealer means that is normal and should be better after 6,200 miles.
Now I have 9,300 miles and nothing is better than before. Is the rough-running gearbox
normal?

Thanks for any information.
regards,
Andreas

Huh? What do you mean with a diesel? very kewl Mod if so. As you probaly know the Mazda 5 comes stock with a 2.3litre Gasoline engine. Yes that cover has an access hole for the oil filter. The gearbox on the M5 is one of the smoothest I've driven yet!

In Europe they have a superbe 2.0l diesel, not avalable in N/A yet... And if I'm not mistaken, it's a 6 speed!

I have it in Slovenia, 2.0 143HP, 390nm torque!!!!, this engine is wild, burning only 6,5l/100km.

6 speed, and you can overtake at 90km/h in 6th as there is so much torque. At 200km/h engine is at 3000rpm....

I drive M5 diesel, 2.0 MZR-CD Turbo Diesel (105kW/143ps). My gearbox is also smooth. I didn’t noticed any noise like you.
I very much like the sound of engine when RPM are below 2000.

I had problems with the DPF but now seem ok.
Also cannot reach a good mileage - like Jures. I am mostly driving in city with mileage above 8l / 100km.
