Anyone else put a roof rack on thier 5? I guess i'll have to go through mazda to get the kit. Rack makers Thule and Yakima dont offer kits yet..... But it appears in the catalog that Yakima add on's are used, such as the luggage basket, and bike carriers. .... I'm kinda confused.

Well I guess I'll give an update for anyone else who wants to rack-out their 5. Yakima just came up with a solution for a fit kit. It does not appear in their 06 catalog, so you have to call and talk to a rep. The rep i talked to apparently has gotten lots of inquiries on the 5...
Thank god I dont have to get the rack from Mazda..... They charge waay too much for it, and they dont offer attachments for kayak's. Palabra!!

Go to mazdastuff.com. I just ordered mine to day at $284.00. Dealer wants $329.00!

Good luck

Ive just installed my Yakima roof rack with a Loadwarrior basket last week...clips you will need for this installation is clips 12 and 131...I can post pics if anyone is interested. The downside is you cannot fully open the sunroof, just have it at a tilt. Im not sure if it will open all the way if you had something other than a Loadwarrior basket up there. By the way...www.rackattack.com was the only people in my area with all the right parts at a resonable price....can someone say FREE SHIPPING.

I installed the Mazda factory rack. My sun roof can open fully. I don't even see the rack from inside the car when the sunroof is opened. I highly recommend factory installation.

I'm going with a hitch mounted cargo box.  etrailer.com has a hitch for the Mazda 5.  They are easy to install, and it's easier to access than a roof rack.  Here id my cargo box on the Saab.
