Hello, New to the forum and I have been looking at a spare/used tranny instead of fixing the trans in my '86 B2000 (popping out of reverse, and some tired synchros). My son has a friend that has a Mazda trans for sale, said it was out of an '89 B2200. Brought it home and compared it to mine - the bottom 1/3 of the bell housing had some extra bolt holes and it does not have the bolt locations to mount the plates or gussets that go between the trans and engine block on mine. It also had some extra vents/openings in the bell housing that mine doesn't have. A local wrecking yard said that anything from '86 to '93 should fit, depending on the gussets/plates - I'm guessing that the gussets/plates cannot be omitted? Thanks in advance for any info provided!!

looked it up at www.car-part.com and it looks like only a tranny for a b2000 will fit looks like they ended the b2000 in 87 80-84 86-87 and looks like you need a tranny from an 86 or 87 use the link to check your area scrap yards this link also will show other models that will interchange for a model run
