Just bought a 2000 Protege DX, and towards the end of August I'll be driving it up the Alcan highway to Alaska. I hear there's lots of gravel on some parts of the highway. What's available to protect the windshield, gas tank, and front paint of a Protege from flying rocks? What is and isn't worth spending money on? Somebody recommended a bug deflector but I haven't been able to find one for the Protege. Anybody know if such a thing exists and how to get one? By the way, how does the Protege do on *long* road trips? Please share your wisdom! Thanks, Aric

Well idk about protecting the car, but the power is gonna be kinda non-existent going up mountainsides, my 99 protege lx (same engine) is forced to downshift on some Oklahoma hills at 70-80 mph. So be sure you pack light and eat less food until you leave cuz 90 hp just isn''t enough lol
