Wind noise?

Wind noise?
I have a 2006 Mazda6 with 3.0, 6speed auto. I have noticed alot of wind noise at highway speeds. Seems to be mostly around the side frontwindows. Also too much road noise! Anybody have a fix that works? Thanks for your thoughts!

RE: Wind noise?
hey man...my 05 Mazda6s does the same. i usually have the music loud enough to where i can't hear the wind or road anymore. haha..but seriously. i think it would work to "tighten" the door latches. cuz if the latches are tighter, than the doors are tighter, and if the doors are tighter, than there is much less outside noise coming through the door. i'm not sure how to do this...but my dad is an experienced mechanic and he says that it can be done. he will prolly do it to my car sometime.
hope this helped somewhat.

RE: Wind noise?
In my '06-6 I haven't noticed the wind noise as much as the road noise. The road noise I attribute mostly to the tires. I've seen a couple of other posts in which people noticed a reduction in road noise with new tires. I'll be in the market for new tires soon. Is there a particular brand and/or size that folks on the forum have been happy with?

RE: Wind noise?
Dynamat, though expensive as hell, is probably your best bet if road noise bothers you.
As for the other, the door latches should only be adjusted if the doors are out of alignment and don't match the other surrounding panels. i.e. too far out, or too far in.
If the car is still under warranty, take it in.
If not, you may need to space out the door gaskets using a bit of strip caulking. Locate where the wind noise is the loudest and run a piece of strip caulk between the door seal and the door's steel to force the seal out more away from the door and fill any potential gap causing your leak. Keep doing that till the noise is eliminated. That's how the pros do it.
Short of that (and I doubt this would be necessary on an '06) would be to replace the door seals.
