Mazda 6 When tank is full can hear the gas sloshing around
I purchased an 07 Mazda 6 a few months ago. When I fill up for the first 1/4 of tank or so I can hear the fuel sloshing around at low speed bumps and breaking when there isn't much other noise around, as in exiting the garage. Is this common to Mazda? I mentioned it to the dealer service manager but he seemed suprised but when I had a Mazda 3 loaner I noticed the same thing. Terry.

I also thought the gas was sloshing around, but after careful inspection I noticed that there was water in the spare tire well and also the tire jack storage area. Ioften drive through car washes and I think this is where the water comes from...some way.

It's normal with this car, just one of it's qirks. Nothing to worry about, if it bugs you, I'd suggest turning up the music.

Fuel sloshing sound may be water in the rocker panels. I just purchased a 2006 mazda6. I've owned this car for maybe 4 months and over time noticed the sloshing sound. I eventually took it to the mechanic due to my carpet near the backseat was wet. They found water in the rocker panel and just drilled a hole in the bottom. Quite a bit of water eventually came out.

I own a 2020 Mazda CX-9 AWD GT and I noticed the sloshing sound today coming from the back when breaking. I though there was some large water bottles in the back at first....It seems like a Mazda specific problem not only the 6 but the CX-9 and it has been going on for decades...maybe only specific cars are affected? Maybe they forgot to install some sound insulation panels? I googled it and this is the only match I found so far.
My tank is about 3/4 way full.
