I posted before about a rattle i was getting in drive at idle. The rattle was comming from the air cleaner box. 2 questions

1) My air cleaner box is pretty loose . You can move it up and down . But it is still mounted to the frame. Is this normal?

2) Does your engine vibrate alot in drive at idle. My cat idles around 750 rpm I had someone in the car and i was looking at the engine . It seems to vibrate alot causing the airbox to move with it causing the rattle.

I just purchased an 05 "6" so i am not sure what is normal on a front wheel drive vehicle

I cut a piece of foam and placed it under the airbox and the rattle is gone. But i was just wondering if the engine vibrated to much or maybe the airbox was broken.

1) Your airbox should never rattle in any car. So its not normal, this might be an opertunity to get an aftermarket air intake

2)Your car should never rattle at all. The airbox might be the cause of your rattling problem.

Your should take it back to the dealer, and show them your problem. If you still have a warrenty on the car, they cover the parts.
