Broken Windshield Wiper Arm

Broken Windshield Wiper Arm
It snowed/rained heavily in Minnesota yesterday. When I left work I turned on my wipers of my Mazda 6and they didn't move because I had too much heavy snowon my windshield. So I cleared it off, they started wiping and I didn't think anything of it. Then I notice that my passenger side one is moving but my driver side wiper arm isn't. It moves a little, but for the most part it just stays put. I guess I overtorqued my windshield wiper motor and broke the connection between the motor and wiper arm. Actually, the moter bent the arm very badly. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? The motor still works, so I was thinking I only needed a new wiper arm, but I don't know if I stripped the connection between the motor and wiper arm so I would need to replace both. This happened yesterday, so I haven't investigated yet, but anyone with advice, please help.

RE: Broken Windshield Wiper Arm
Ok, this is an easy fix. Pop your hood, take off the cap at the base of the wiper arm and motor, take a 12mm socket and tightenthe nutback up and your good to go. I wish I would have looked at my problemfirst before I postedmy first comment, but it was really snowy. Thank you mazda for makingyour car idiot-proof

Thank you for the advise on tightening up the nut. We were ready to replace everything when I saw this post. It worked perfectly. Pretty Odd how all the fix it places said we had to spend tons of money for a simple fix we could do ourselves.
