headlight replacemnt
All right man, I've been working on cars now for over 30 years, hand build suspensions, can weld the crap out of anything but can't figure out how in the world to change out a passenger side lowbeam on the old ladies 04 Mazda 6! I feel like an idiot. It can't possibly be a "dealer only" replacement. Can someone help this old timer out please? Thank you kindly.

You should be able to pull the bulb from the backside of the headlight assembly. There is a round cover over the bulb connector that you need to remove first. Should be a twist and pull type of removal for the bulb,

i found the easiest way to change bulbs is to take the bumper off, and unbolt the headlights and remove them. i replaced my headlight bulbs and the little bulbs in high beam housing over the weekend. entire process took me a half hour at most. let me know if u need step by step directions, i posted em up on here a while ago..nick

RE: headlight replacemnt
problem solved! behind the entire headlight fixture under the hood (not with the bumper off!) is a wire running into a rubber cover that insulates the back part of the light. after slipping by the rubber cover is (like 'that6' said before) a thin metal clip. now this is where most impatient people will have the most trouble later because they didnt pay attention to how the damn light was originally set in there, so pay attention, take a picture, have your grandmother look at it and say "okay, i KNOW it goes like this", just please dont misread the postion of your light under the metal clip. change out your bulb, replace the metal clip, wash the 6 and enjoy.
p.s. if the light is not placed in correctly, it tends to rattle and shake untill burns out (damn those advanced auto parts guys)what a way to spend35 dollars on lights and 5 tipping those lame brained ****heads.

hey, I have a problem with the light pointing downward. I didn't know there was a wire thingy. I'm gett'in real good at taking it out but it keeps falling down. The body shop didn't see it either. The dealer said it may need to be glued!! [sm=nothatway.gif]
