Pull Mazda5 Headunit for XM FM mod intall
Bought a Mazda5--love it! Exceeded all my expectations. It's my fourth Mazda . . . Anyway, I want to install a direct FM modulator for my XM Roady2. Any idea on how to pull the headunit to reach the plugs on the back?

Do not rememer if has input port or not. Fairly easy to remove to check. Pull side panels down on inside of both footwell straight out. Remove the one visible phillips screw on each side. Pull the silver shifter cover straight up and remove. Two screws under this panel to remove as well. Now move shifter as far rearward as you can and pull the entire center console towards you and up. There are two clips in the upper center just below the a/c and recirc buttons that are kind of tight so be careful not to break console. Pull console out of the way and remove two phillips screws on bottom of audio unit. Pull audio unit straight out. Included some picts to show location of clips and screws.
