Hi, anyone know where to get a cheap muffler? I've been all over asking the typical shops, online, etc. but cannot find one for less than $230.

Hi folks, well I'm developing a hole on my intermediate (or mid) pipe now. RockAuto has that part (284487) but I'm SOL on finding an aftermarket muffler. Local muffler shop said all he can find is the Bosal drawing - meaning cannot find in stock anywhere. He also said it's not uncommon to see zero availability if there is little demand (meaning car is less than 5 years old or very few are sold). I have 90k on M5 and it's lived in Ohio winters.

So am I stuck with having to pay through the nose at Dealer?

Any thoughts appreciated.

 

p.s. on a better note, I just put Cooper Zeons (RS3A, 205/50 17) on. Wow, very good impression 1st 100 miles. My Sumitomos from NTB were down to 4/32s-5/32s and were just awful last winter in any amount of snow.
