Hi,
2008 car, roughly 100000 miles on it.
Airbag light started flashing a while ago.
Tried a few code readers, all came back with no code.
Light is flashing all the time, doesn't matter if someone is sitting in either one of the front seats.
Also tried disconnecting the main battery to force a computer restart, still flashing.
Any ideas?

It might be flashing a code. 1 long flash = 10, 1 short flash = 1

 

Our 2010 had the same issue. It was the pre-tensioner sensor for the passenger side. Evidently it also controls the airbag and we were told the airbag would not work when this part failed. I think it cost somewhere just over $400 to fix it and it took a month to get the part here in Ocala, Florida. Of course it failed not too long ater the warranty ran out!

 

Go to Mazda and get the code read properly.

Anytime the Air-bag light flashes or illuminates continuously the system is disable and wont preform in a crash.
