Suspension Modification
Hey all I've read virtually every post on the board and others trying to decide on what kind of modification to do on my 06 3sGT hatch. I'd like to increase performance a lot without sacrificing too much comfort. It is a daily driver and long distance commuter. I think I've settled on this:
Koni Sport Shocks Fr/Rr
Eibach Pro-Kit
Eibach Anti-Roll Kit Fr/Rr
stock 17" wheels
ultra performance all seasons like the Kumho ECSTA
I'd like your opinions especially if you have some of these mods. Am I destroying the ride for travelling? I travel interstates but drive it like my Ducati on the secondary rds. So sort of very spirited.

I drive ~24,000 miles a year and I love the ride of my Prokit springs. I think they're the perfect balance between ride/handling.
I've got the Mazdaspeed shocks but I haven't seen the need to install them yet. I figure I'll let the stock ones wear out first. I haven't messed at all with the sway bars.

Thanks sst, I spoke with a local speed shop and went through some options and decided on the Koni kit, (Eibach Pro-Kit/FSD shocks) after I wear out the RSA's I'll probably upgrade my wheels and tires.

Well after visting another local import speed shop I have another proposal for the suspension upgrade. Tein Basic coil overs or the Eibach/Koni FSD set. I've read some I-net stuff and both seem like a good way to go. So anyone have any experience with the Tein Basic Coilovers vs the Ebach/Koni FSD system? Geez I thought I had it figured out. Any help will be appreciated.

Coil-overs are nice as you can adjust the ride height within probably a 0.75" range so you can have it sit exactly how you like it. I've heard the coil-overs tend to be a little stiffer and ride lower than the pro-kit springs (more like the Eibach Sport-lines.)

hey iflyducati: the tein basic coil-overs would be a great choice for a suspension upgrade. i installed the coil-overs with some friends of mine on my 2004 hatchback in march of 2006. i really like how the car handles itself now. true, there is some ride quality lost with the upgrade, but its a fair trade for the performance, fun, and overall appearance of the car. as a spirited driver and autocrosser, the system was an optimal upgrade over stock settings...the ride height adjustability of the system is very convenient and helpful.
