Default Headlights

Hey if anyone can help me I bought some new Halo lights but the two prongs or whatever are too big to fit into the port for the headlights. If anyone who has installed Halo lights on a Mazda 3 before please let me know if I need to buy or something or what I'm doing wrong. Thanks

I'm pretty sure that you have to split the headlamps front to back. You have to heat them up to loosen the glue.

Did they not come with any instructions?

Try a search at Mazda3forums.com I know some guys have done this mod over there.

Default RE: Headlights

What kind of halos did you get? Are these the newer ones with the slotted plastic cover? I'm guessing what you're saying is that the wire from the halo ends in a plug, and the plug is too large to fit through the frame of the headlight mount, yes? If that's the case then you need to cut the plug, run the wire through the headlight, and then reattach the plug on the other side. I seem to remember some people at mazda3forums having the same problem. I suggest using solder and shrink wrap for a clean job, and to keep out water.

There are a few good walkthrough on mazda3forums. Unfortunetely the best one with a walkthrough for the newer halos was removed by the poster after some disagreements with the admins over there. A big loss for all of the rest of us. Also someone over there made a kit for the halos so that they'll fade in/out with the parking lights when you lock/unlock the car with the fob.
