I am interested in buying Mazda3, and would like to see if the sticker on the window is telling the truth. Mazda is saying that on sedan you can get 28 to-35 Miles per galon.
If that is true, all of you should be doing about 400 miles.
Avg would be 31 anyone out there getting that kind of results.

How many miles per tank you get?

 

I've had my mazda 3 s for nearly a month and a half, and it has been averaging about 25 miles per gallon. It may be that way because it is still being broken in, and that i still have the same oil that came in it. Although the oil may be a factor, i've only got 2010 miles on it. Last night i put premium in it to see if that would make a difference in gas mileage. I'll let you know what i find out.

 

I have a '04 mazda3i mt with 21000 miles. I average about 31 mpg. On road trips I get about 36 mpg all highway, which I believe is better than the estimated highway mpg for a mazda3i. I do not push the mt, i shift normally at 2.5. I do about the same amount of highway as I do city driving. But I do live in Cincinnati, and we don't have horrible traffic like New York or LA. Hope this helps

ok its been a few days and the increase was only two miles per gallon more than it was, when i was using regular unleaded. the worst part about this is that i have a stick shift. which is suppose to get better gas milage than automatics

 

So you guys do 400 Miles per tank or more?
I am still thinking what to get Sedan or Hatback but i know for a 100% i want a triptronic.

Now i have Mustqang cobra 99 that i make only 20 miles per galon.
I just want somthing that would make me save on gas and not fill it up every 3 days. I do about 400 miles a week!

City driving usually yields about 300-320 miles per tank. I average about 380-400 miles to the tank on the highway. I have a 2004 3i Automatic.

 

ok, i have the hatchback, with manuel transmission, and with regular gas in a week i get about 300-320 miles per gallon. with super premium in my tank i get 320-360 miles per gallon, so i really don't know if i'm getting a deal on that or not. I could just pay for regular gas and go the same distance.

 

On a 2004 mazda3i mt with regular gas I get on average 330 miles to 3/4 of a tank.
How you drive a mt can affect the gas milage. If you rev up to 3 on the tach or higher you are starting waste gas. If you accellerate very fast from a dead stop you waste gas. If your worried about gas millage do not beat people off the line, don't race. Drive the car easy and shift at about 2.5 on the tach for gears 1-4. The speeds you'll be shifting at will be 15, 25, 35, 45 as written in the mazda3 manual.

 

I know this is an old post, but I have a brand new 800 miles, 3S with auto trans. I am only getting about 20 mpg around town and got 30 on a 140 mile road trip. I am not driving the car hard at all. I am a little dissappointed. Is it going to get better?

Once the engine has about 3-5K on it... you will notice a mpg increase....most on the highway !!!!
