Default Problem with Automatic Shifting

Ran into a very weird problem today. While in the 'tiptronic' mode I was shifting up a gear (moving shifter down) and it didn't move back into to position as fast as normal. When I shift down a gear, it moves like normal. I can still shift up and it moves back into the middle position but it moves slower. Also while shifting up it sounds like it hits something or something is in the way.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

could be an issue internally, my first guess would be the actuators getting stuck. Check your trans fluid color and maybe try some lucus "make everything better" liquid. How many miles you got?

i'm with stupid, sounds like an actuator/selenoid. i don't have a lot of experience with tiptronic features, but that explanation is characteristic of a mechanical shifting issue. it's probably not terribly serious. probably no overhaul involved.
