Trouble shifting into DRIVE
Hello, newb here, with a 2002 Trib I just bought. COOL CAR!
Seems like I have to really JAM on the brake pedal (occasionally) in order to shift into drive.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Park on a incline?
Car usually shifts better when you use parking brake properly.
Put parking brake on first before putting car in park.
After starting reverse procedure: put in gear first then remove parking brake.

A friend also told me about the "USE YOUR PARKING BRAKE PROPERLY" and I have started doing that, but it still happens when I park on a flat spot.
It seems that there is almost a trick to getting it into DRIVE. It involves not pulling the shifter towards me, but only enough to get it past a "bump" and then it will shift down.
Weird.
