Default Help with a transfer box

Hi All,

had a grinding noise on my 2.0 tribby, my brother in law is a mechanic, so he took it for a test drive and said it is the wheel bearing. I took the unit off, he fitted the bearing then I put it back together. All to save money but it still cost £120 for the bearing!!!!!

Anyways, first test drive and the noise is still there. I jacked up all four wheels this morning and got underneath with a stethoscope. The grinding noise is coming from the transfer box. So the question is, can it be repaired or does it have to be replaced?

Thanks in advance.

Dan
