Default Got an odd one for you guys to figure out, lol

So figured this one out today and its baffaling even my mech.

So when i plug in my phone or anyone phone into eihter of the lighter ports, the radio goes all staticy. BUT, when i plug in GPS or ipod it doesnt.

I changed out the car charging wire, bought a new one. Also checked the fuses and they are all good and the right wattage that they should be.

Just for craps and giggles, we also pulled the radio and double checked all the wireing on that and thats all good too.

So any idea on what is causing this. we both are baffled. We tried wiht a note 3, note 4, advent, galaxy and mytouch, does it wiht all phones.

Also was the aftermarket radio just installed or has it been in the car?

techs here are saying it sounds like the radio may be improperly grounded. There is a ground strap on it that may be missing or detached.

i pulled it, the black wire is connected to black wire. weird, the only wire not connected is a blue one cause theres no other wires to connect it to, lol. I can have them check again

wonder if thats the reason the driver headlight ground wire keeps melting, lol

Disconnect the black wire to black wire connection and ground the stereo black wire to the chassis/ dash frame.
