2001 mazda tribute won't start when hot
So right off, new battety and new starter. When I turn off the car and attempt to restart the car, it acts like I have a dead battery. The starter turns over for a second and stops. I originally thought the battery was bad and replaced it. Turns out I have power to the starter, if you leave the key in the start position it will burn up the wires to the starter. Replaced the starter and wiring harness no change. If you turn the car off and on over a period of a half hour or so it will eventually crank over strong like there was never an issue.. anyone ever come across this... it is like the motor is vapor locked, I wonder if a sensor is faulty and measuring to hot not allowing the starter to continue to crank?

So you replaced the wire that was getting hot when the problem occurred, yes?
I've heard of some GM cars years ago that would hydro lock because of leaking injectors. After shutdown, the residual fuel pressure left in the rail would push gas through one or more leaky injectors partially filling the cylinder locking the engine up when cranked. I suppose the gas will eventually drain down through the rings and evaporate through any open valve.
Do a quick oil change after a hot shut down and see if there's gas in the oil.
