Transmission/brake/coolant/power steering flush
I own an 05 Tribute S 2WD with 45k miles. To my knowledge, the only service that has been done is about a dozen oil/filter changes. Recently, my dealer recommended an automatic transmission flush, brake fluid flush, power steering flush and a coolant flush. Are all of these necessary at 45k miles? Or can I make do with just a coolant flush? Thanks!

The only one I would recommend is the tranny flush. I have never done a power steering flush...wont say its unnecessary, but I have put a lot of miles on cars w/o ever doing that and never had a power steering problem. Not sure what coolant your 2.3 4 cylinder uses...if it's green, you probably should get it drained and re-filled but not flushed @ only three years old. If your coolant is yellow, red, or orange it is good for 5+ years

I would do the trans flush for sure. As far as the other fluids they can be tested. For example the coolant should have a freeze protection of -60 if you live in the cold states and a ph of 8. The PH is very important as the ph lowers the fluid become more acidic and can actually cause wear on your engines internal parts and hoses and such. At 45k I doubt is needs it, if they can't provide test to prove you need fluid service I recommend finding another shop to perform your service.
