02 tribute v6 cat
I need to replace the rear catalytic converter on my 02 Tribute V6. Has anybody done this job ?
I see for underneath it is a PITA with those cross members. Also I noticed I will have to remove the intake manifold. I might as well replace the spark plugs while I am there.
Any thoughts ? Tips ?
Thank you.

Ok folks, I did it.
Yesterday I replaced the rear cat on my tribute. I warn you, if you want to takcle this job, have an airgun and compressor. I have both, my gun has 1000 Lbs of torque, so removing the rusted nuts from the exhaust was a breeze.
First, the intake manifold has to come out, then the exhaust from the front cat to the third cat nder the car, also you will have to remove boxth cross members ) on 4x4 models )
Below are some pictures of my old cat. See inside the honey comb is all craked up.
Because this think is kind of big, once it is unbolted removing it from the car is a PITA, You will have to unbolt the passenger side moter mount and raise the engine . Even so , it iwll e hard to get it out.
The EGR nut on the cat takes a 27mm wrench.
