Default 01 Mazda Tribute Suggestions

I just bought an 01 Mazda Tribute ES 4x4. My last car was a 2000 Mustang, but lucky me, a head gasket blew and I didn't want to deal with it. Considering the Mustang was my only car, living in New York, it wasn't exactly a great car to drive in the winter anyways.
So I just picked up the Tribute and I've been getting a lot of people saying it's a chick car or girls I know saying its "cute". Now this doesn't really bother me, not a huge deal to me, but it wouldn't hurt to get a few suggestions on how to "beef" it up so to say to look a little more manly. I was thinking of adding some running boards and maybe a brush guard. Anybody have any other suggestions?

I hate all that plastic on there!
Definitely Running Boards! More Manly Rims would be awesome.
What a change from a Mustang to that! At least your sitting higher, able to see a few cars ahead of you in dreaded New York?!

OR THE MEGA MANLY PUSH BAR

I do like the way that last picture looks with the running boards and the push bar. I've been looking on eBay, looks like I can get them both for about $100 each, and they both come in black, which I think I might like better than the chrome.

I think I will look into some nicer rims as well, I actually didn't even think of rims. I'd have to find some fairly cheap used though, it's in pretty good condition. but I don't think it's in good enough condition to throw tons of money into rims alone.

You think a bug guard would make it look better or worse? I might look into blacking out the head and tail lights as well.

What do you think about just simply making the rims black? Even taking all the plastic all the way around and making that black as well?

Bug Guards suck. It's hard to clean off in winter and does water drain properly or stay for corrosion!

Black rims suck. trying to paint plastic black would be nice as that gray plastic looks cheap!
