Default Thinking about getting an RX-8

I'm new here so I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question. Anyways:

I'm seriously considering buying an RX-8. I've found an 2005 RX-8 on craigslist with less than 100XXX miles within my budget. My question is, should I buy it? I can afford the car but I'm not so sure about maintenance and upkeep. I only make about $60/week as I'm still in high school. If I keep up with the proper upkeep and maintenance of this car, will it be reliable? Or am I committing financial suicide buy purchasing this car?

In your current financial situation I would advise against buying it. They have huge fuel consumption and the the engines don't last like pistons engines do.

If you only make $60/week, you'll be putting all that into gas alone with one of these cars. Save up a good bit of money for maintenance before you go buying a really maintenance heavy car like this. I'm no financial advisor or anything, but also don't forget you've got college coming up soon as well! Put some of it away in a rainy day fund, and you'll get your dream car eventually.

As the others stated, an RX-8 would not be a good move for you.
They are finicky creatures that require specific and regular maintenance, and at 100,000 miles (or close to it as you indicate) it will need some serious and expensive engine repair before long, if not already.
