Default Vaccuum line location

Im looking for the location of a vacuum line that is closest to the. Throttlebody and located on the top of the air intake tube it has a plastic nub into the tube and the end coming out has a l split with one hose going to the side of the block and the other having nothing on it. Will post pics asap.
The tube came taped with pink tape and the previous owner said that was the reason for the rough idle. I cannot find a diagram or reference whatsoever to what type of tube or the end connection. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Engine is 2.0 protege 5 2003.

If it is a small diameter hose then it is for EGR vacuum solenoid dump. It should never be capped. If capped it will keep the EGR valve open and cause a rough idle. If it is a larger hose (1/2 inch) then it is for crankcase ventilation and goes to the corner of the valve cover. The PCV is at the center back of valve cover and has 2 hoses coming off of it to the intake.
