Remote starter in '97
I bought this car and discovered that it had a remote starter built in. Im not sure if its factory... or aftermarket... and I don't have the remotes and also the antenna is disconnected. There isn't any name on the starter or the circuitry inside... any ideas?
If I can't get remotes and program them... I thought I might just buy a remote starter on ebay or something and just throw it in there (since the wires are all there and ready). My only concern is that a starter that I buy might not have the same connections show in my pictures.
Thanks for any input!

That doesn't look like a Mazda part, and I don't think a remote start was offered as a factory option in 1997. You're probably better off getting a new remote starter. If you want to save a lot of headaches, get it pro installed. I did mine myself, I have a 1996, and I had done lots of other cars, and I had a hard time getting it to work. I ended up putting an extra long antenna wire through the firewall up to the headlight on the drivers side to get reception. I also programmed the remote start to send a signal to turn off the alarm before the starting sequence begins, or the alarm will sound and **** off the neighbors. The problem with this is now your doors are unlocked. Not a problem for me, but it might be for you.
