Pressure is building......AC problem
My 1998 Protege is having the AC compressor cycle on and off sporadically when
the RPM's increase........My neighbor put some gages on the AC system, and the Hi side pressure is way too high. I can't get it in the shop for a while, and it is getting HOT in Kansas. It obviously is an obstruction of some sort on the Hi pressure side. Any suggestions of where to look?

RE: Pressure is building......AC problem
I also have an obstruction. Before it gets to the expansion valve, chances are there's some trash in your condenser or perhaps the receiver/dryer. If there's trash there, that can also point to a compressor that has possibly eaten itself (if you haven't already replaced it). Good luck!
For a cheap source of A/C parts both rebuilt and new, see if you can find an Austin Baker location anywhere near you. I have one in my city but I hear they're nationwide.
