Default Mazda Protege 2000 Auto transmission trouble

Ok guys i was driving all of a sudden driving on the highway in slow traffic then all of a sudden the car will jerk into 2nd gear and as i was getting up to speed. The car wouldn't go in to overdrive and the O/D light is flashing so i stopped on to the side of the highway, check transmission fluid it was red and it was a little overfilled but i really don't think that's the problem as it was just only 1/4 of an inch overfilled. I check for any codes on my ob2 scanner and there was a pending code Solenoid d stuck on i think its p0767.

Got it towed to my house and surprisingly the car was driving perfect no shifting issues but it started it doing again maybe 15 mins later while driving but this time it had trouble going into 1st gear it will delay for like 30 secs to a min and the jolt into 2nd and sometimes 3 and 4. So i decided to change the transmission fluid to mobil 1 but not the filter (just draining out the fluid out the drain plug). The fluid was a very nice red color that came out. I made sure it was at the right level. Its still doing the symptoms above.

But i noticed that when the car is cold the transmission shifts perfect but when its warmed after driving for a while that's when the crazy transmission problems starts to happen. Also i forgot to say that when the car is warmed up and am idling and go from park to drive it acts like its in neutral but when i put it 1 or 2 bangs into gear right away and drives ok.

Forgot to mention that Reverse works perfect regardless if car is warm or cold.

What do you guys think the problem is and how to solve it?
Hopefully not a new transmission

Sounds like it needs a valve body overhaul, maybe just needs that solenoid replaced.
