Default Headlight retaining spring

i was rushing to replace a headlight bulb on my wifes 2002 Protege 5, the retaining spring came out, is there a easy way to reinstall it? other than taking the whole assembly out? I saw a small screw off to the side i think might mount it, any help is appreciated.

also i need to replace a brake light bulb, but i need to buy a deep socket, what size is it, 8 mm?

10mm but mines the sedan
undo the screw a little bit and put the spring back in place then tighten it down

thanks, but now since it was apart the retaining spring is missing, can they be bought separately or do you have to buy the whole assembly? or find one at a auto wrecker?
