Clunking noise ( strange noise ) from rear of Mazda Protege 1999
Hi everyone ....
I have Mazda Protege 1999 , I was driving this day and I heard a strange noise from the back . When I drive slow or on the bump or even sometimes in not smooth road I heard a clunking or imagine a chain hit the surface or somewhere , the noise seems to be a chain hang and hit to somewhere , it looks from the rear passenger side ... is it related to the shocks or struts or brake pads ? Sway bar ? Is it emergency to change it ? Also I move up and down the rear of car by hand but there is no noise ... I have the noise especially when the rear wheels pass the bump ...

Yes, you should find out what that is. Check the struts, the sway bar links and bushings, the lower ball joint and the control link bushings. My guess is the struts are worn.
You need to jack up the car safely, remove the wheels an use a pry bar to pry up on the sway bar. Watch the link ends. There should be no play.
