RE: Charging System Issues
You need to find the source of the problem by finding out what is staying on. See if any lights might be on, like the glove box, trunk light, or if you have lighted visors. If not then you need to disconnect the one battery cable and install a amp gauge in series to determine the draw on the system. Once a gauge is installed, start pulling fuses, one by one, from the fusebox and when the meter goes down you found the source. Determine what systems are on that fuse to narrow it down and you found it. An inexpensive test light can be substituted for the amp gauge. Hook up the light in the same manner. If the lamp glows bright, there is a large draw. If the lamp barely glows, that is a normal draw. You must disable any dome lights and leave the key off before testing.
