Default 2002 Protege5 P0171 + P0113 codes

I am having issues with my Protege5. The check engine light came on about 2 months ago and has stayed on. I pulled the codes at Autozone, and here's what came out:

Here's what the car is doing:

When giving it gas, it's fine. Overall gas consumption seems to be about 10-15% higher than normal. At idle while in 'drive', the car will run for a bit, then slowly sputter and die. It did not do this at every intersection at first, but now it seems to happen if I idle for more than 10 seconds. Putting the car in 'park' until the light changes has allowed me to continue driving, because though there may be some sputtering, it doesn't die while in 'park.' There does not seem to be an issue with starting. I feel like there is a loss in power, but I am not sure.

I have safety & emissions inspections due at the end of February, and I can't afford to pay a professional. I'm handy though. Can anyone give me advice or tell me what to check or do?

check for a vaccum leak and check your egr valve to make sure its opening and closing and is also holding pressure.

Default Probably EGR Valve

Had the same problem a few months ago. It was the EGR valve.

Good luck!

Forgot to mention that I also changed the coils and wires. Runs like a dream since.
