Truck Caps on Mazdas - Not like a Ranger
Hi All - Trying to get a cap for my 2006 B-Series B4000 pickup. Apparently the bed is not shaped like a Ranger. The big dif, is that the bed on the Mazda is more narrow across than the cab. On the Ranger the Bed and Cab are the same width. Anyone have experience with this? Any inspiration? Thanks

Hey. I just picked up an older cap and I'm in the same boat. It's a good fiberglass cap so I'm going to remove the aluminum trim outside and the inside mounting plate. (sides and front)
Inside, i plan on building a new mount (3.75" wide) out of some dry fir I have here gluing it on with pl premium and countersinking the screws from outside (probably #6x1.25) every 4" or so.
So then, I can putty the screws over for a clean look and color-match the cap.
So.... it won't hang over the side as much.
