Default Mazda B2200 -Mazda engine swap

I have a 1989 Mazda B2200 pickup and am looking at buying a 1982 Mazda diesel pickup with a bad transmission. Can the 1982 Mazda diesel be bolted onto my 5 speed manual transmission? Also are there a lot of problems with retrofitting the 1989 B2200 with that diesel engine.

I did this two years ago, putting an 82 diesel (AKA S2 engine) into my 92 B2200 (w/ F2 engine). You need to use the transmission case from the diesel and mate it to the internals and rear housing of the gas transmission. The rest is all plumbing and wiring. If you are a good fabricator and have both workshop manuals you'll end up with a slow as molasses truck that gets 40MPG.
