e2200 camper van stuck in fourth gear
Hi does anyone know how I can get my camper out of fourth gear, clutch seems fine but will not budge. Is there any think I can do to get it out of gear so I can get it home. It happen while my wife and kids on holiday 200 miles away. Is this a recovery home or a simple fix task . Any advice would be greatly recieved. This is a 1985 2ltr diesel if that helps. Gary

the rear house of gearbox needs to be removed remove tailsharft and gearbox mountings just a chain around torsion bars to suspend gearbox
oil will escape so have a dish ready

on t he bottom of housing there's a small disc reverse locator disc remove cir clip
the spring on this stretches and it control's the throw of stick with re tension this spring with strong fingers as well as the coil part and hey its like new lever shift not the dick in the shirt sleeve you've been playing with for the last 50000k
total time aprox 2 hrs hope this helps i replaced t he disc but was no wear and as an after thought tensioned the spring and it fixed it so i believe the spring is the lazy bit
