What type of problems? I removed the stock radio on mine (1988) years ago and can't remember any issues removing it. i did get a kit with new faceplate to install the cassette stereo. I just went out to take a refresher look. Remove two screws on each side of the shifter base, that must be lifted up for clearance, if memory serves. Then there's two screws on each side of the radio console. Pull out the ashtray, there may be a hidden mount screw in there as well, can't remember. I advise an adapter wiring kit if you plan to install a new stereo, as I've seen several color code charts on the Internet that were DIFFERENT than my 1988 was.
