Default 91 b2200 fuel pump, electric or mechanical?

I was wondering if the mazda 91 b2200 extended cab with a carb is electric and mounted on the tank or is it mounted on the engine? I think it is mecanical on mine but I am not sure. I have what looks like a fuel pump on my engine behind the carb and towards the top of the engine. The engine has be replaced and I was told the engine it has now is a 2 .0 engine by a mechanic. But I had problems with the mechanic so I don't know wether to believe that. He gave me all kinds of excuses of wanting more money for parts, taking almost 2 months and still could not tell me what was the issue. He told me he needed 200 bucks for a distributor and only put on a vaccum advance. He says he owes me the difference but I have yet to receive it. Anyway I am working on it myself now learning as I go.

Is the a manual or auto tranny? If it is a manual then you have a mechanical pump, if it is auto you have an electrical in the tank.

The truck came out with a Auto transmission. But the engine came out of something different. I was told by the mechanic it was a 2.0 but I don't really trust his judgement. It does have a device mounted to the engine that the gas line goes in then goes out to the carb. So I am wondering if it has the pump on the tank then it has the mechanical pump on the engine. I wonder if that could be a issue also. If this an issue could I just take the line directly from the gas line to the carb then just run a hose to the lines of the engine pump to seal it if thats what it is?

Here's a photo (partially) showing a mechanical fuel pump on my B2200, where the red arrow points.
