Default '89 b2200 Auto choke sticking

The Automatic choke on my 1989 B2200 sticks on when the truck is cold and revs really high. Can I simply disconnect the choke without any reprecussions?

did you try some carb/choke cleaner spray
might help lube it and clean it

Thanks for the reply. I've tried cleaning and lubing the cable and I took the choke housing apart. It was better for a week or so, but the problem persisted. I've now "zap strapped" the choke off at the side of the carb, but i'm not sure if mechanicly restricting the choke is a good idea.

if its tied closed the engine may not start hot/warm
if its tied open then you may have to keep your foot on the gas to keep it running till it warms up

maybe its time for a new choke as the heater plate (electric metal coil spring) do wearout/weaken
if you do replace it they need to be setup use the instruction that come with it
