Default 2001 Mazda B3000 electrical dies on acceleration

On about 4 different occasions, after cranking the truck, when I back out of my driveway, and begin to accelerate down the street, all the electrical goes dead for a second - The headlights go off, the stereo stops, everything. The electrical immediately comes back on, but of course the motor has died. If I stop, put it in park, and crank it again, everything is fine. This happens very rarely, about 4 times in 3 months. This past week, I have noticed occasionally the ABS light will momentarily come on, and then immediately go out. I don't know if the ABS light is related, I am guessing it is. Does anyone have any ideas about what is happening? Thanks in advance for any information.

It is probably a "Wackelkontakt". I wish there were an English word for that: a bad connection that comes and goes when the parts move a little. "Rocking contact" just doesn't sound right.
I guess your Wackelkontakt is related to a ground connection. Start with the battery cables and alternator connections.

tanprotege - Thanks for the advice. Yesterday, I actually removed both clamps from the battery, and thoroughly cleaned everything. I had a car a long time ago that I remembered would die, and it was the ground at the engine block. It hasn't happened today, but it was not every day. I will update when I find out more.

Default I believe that has fixed my problem!

It has been a week now, and the truck has not died on acceleration. I have tried to make it, by accelerating hard in the mornings, and still no problem. Also, the CD player had been intermittently cutting off, and I thought it was just old. That problem has also been eliminated. Thanks a lot tanprotege for the advice. I think I am good now!
